I make pieces that portray the underlying nuances of the world around me, using bright and dark colors for contrast so to best represent the duality of our world. Additionally, I experiment with surrealist techniques like decalcomania and autonomist mark making. Allowing me to find subconscious imagery that is influenced by my state of mind and emotions at the moment of creation.
Surrealism has inspired me to believe in more than what the eye can see. It reminds me that there is a whole universe of imagery within us that can be shared. It promotes unusual thinking and a second thought of the world around us. Each day my work also becomes somewhat spiritual and the process of creating has become a meditative experience in which to lose myself with my thoughts. The work you will see are all built from these ideas, an element of chance, meditative colors and the distortion of reality.
